It goes without saying that Global Market Place is firmly established and growing each and every year. Through a multitude of enablers, including improved technology, enhanced communications and trade agreements, more and more businesses are looking beyond their domestic markets and competing in international markets around the world. Not just neighbouring countries, but markets that would previously have been considered too difficult to access.
At Datum, we have embraced these opportunities and have helped our client base, both domestic and international, do the same too.
How does this work in practice? It really couldn’t be simpler. For our UK clients we print here and ship to anywhere in the world. Over the years we have finely honed our delivery methods and now employ best in class delivery and tracking solutions ensuring reliable, on-time delivery to wherever is required around the world. However, despite our best efforts we have not yet been able to defeat the laws of physics so getting a print run to Sydney, Australia from Hatfield, UK in the next hour isn’t yet possible by traditional means. That’s why we have joined up with Dscoop – essentially a global cooperative of HP Graphic Arts users. By using Dscoop we can send rush jobs to a trusted network of print partners around the world who will undertake the printing and local delivery to an assured standard.
Conversely, for our international clients, we act as a staging post for their UK activities. We undertake their print work here in the UK and then fulfil locally as required. No need for them to maintain a UK office as we manage the process for them.
It sounds simple but the impact can be significant. Below are just a few examples of how our global approach has benefitted our domestic and international clients:
Client – NxStage. Location – USA. Fulfilment – Europe. A leading supplier of medical equipment, NxStage approached us as they needed a helping hand managing marketing materials and logistics in Europe. To mitigate the time difference we built an online portal so the client can order and monitor stock from anywhere at any time.
Client – The Big Kick. Location – UK. Fulfilment – USA. Normally a 48-hour turnaround for a print job and delivery between the UK and the USA would be, at best, severely challenging. We tapped into the Dscoop community and found a trusted partner in the USA who made sure the client got exactly what they needed, when they needed it.
Client – International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS). Location – Qatar. Fulfilment – France. The ICSS were exhibiting at an Expo in Paris, France when they realised they urgently needed folders to package up the collateral they were distributing to attendees. Datum was able to rush the job through and used our relative proximity to France and advanced delivery and tracking solutions to ensure the folders were delivered to the Expo in good time.
Client – Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Location – Canada. Fulfilment – Global. Much of the print and digital campaigns we do for RBC relates to their UK-based activities. However, we are frequently asked to print and fulfil collateral that has been created in the UK across the world.
We would love to talk to potential clients about how Datum can help you with your domestic and international requirements. We are UK-based but our horizons are broad. That’s why you can find us at numerous overseas trade events including Dscoop in Florida, USA, Drupa in Dusseldorf, Germany and Fespa in 2017. In the meantime, why not drop us a note or give us a call and let’s start exploring how Datum can give your global ambitions a helping hand.
