For over 10 years, we at Datum have had the privilege of working with Champagne Bollinger, an iconic brand synonymous with luxury, tradition, and exceptional craftsmanship. From prestigious product launches to unforgettable PR events at places like Royal Ascot, The Grove, the Royal Albert Hall, and even movie premieres, our collaborations with Bollinger have always been rooted in creativity, innovation, and excellence.
This long-standing relationship recently led to one of our most exciting projects yet: designing and producing a series of bespoke retail window displays for Bollinger’s latest product launch, the Bollinger LGA 2015. This exquisite vintage champagne, which is entirely fermented in oak barrels, needed a window display to reflect its heritage, eco-friendly values, and the brand’s B Corp certification.

Bringing the Oak Barrel Heritage to Life
Bollinger’s commitment to traditional methods of production is embodied in their new Bollinger LGA 2015, a vintage champagne that undergoes its fermentation process entirely in oak barrels. To mirror this unique characteristic, Bollinger approached us with an idea: to create a window display that featured oak trees, symbolising both the oak barrels and the sustainability efforts that come with their B Corp certification.
Our design team immediately set to work, creating several visual mock-ups that would reflect the brand’s luxury aesthetic while incorporating eco-friendly materials. We decided to craft a series of oak trees for the window displays, with each tree made entirely from Swedboard fibre, a 100% recyclable and FSC-certified material with minimal CO2 emissions.
This choice aligned perfectly with Bollinger’s B Corp certification, which emphasises sustainability and environmental responsibility. Not only were we able to create a visually stunning retail display, but we also ensured that the materials used were in harmony with Bollinger’s environmental ethos.
Design Process: From Concept to Reality
To meet Bollinger’s vision, our design team produced a series of visuals and mock-ups to present a cohesive, luxury theme that would stand out in high-end retail environments. The graphic installation included:
- Eco-Friendly Oak Tree Sculptures: The central piece of the display was a tree made entirely of eco-friendly Swedboard fibre, symbolising the oak barrels used in the fermentation process of the Bollinger LGA 2015. These trees added height, depth, and elegance to the window displays, drawing attention to Bollinger’s rich heritage and commitment to sustainability.
- Podiums with Oak Effect Finish: Alongside the oak tree, we designed a series of podiums to showcase the bottles of Bollinger LGA 2015. Each podium featured an oak-effect finish, further emphasising the product’s unique connection to the oak fermentation process.
- Window Graphics: We incorporated stylish window graphics that highlighted the Bollinger logo and key details about the Bollinger LGA 2015, drawing attention to the product’s exclusivity and premium quality.
The Installation: 12 Locations, 2 Days
After the design process was finalised, it was time to bring the concept to life across 12 premium locations, including high-end retailers such as Amathus, Berry Bros, Lea & Sandeman, and various independent stores.
Our team worked efficiently over the course of two days, ensuring that each window display was installed seamlessly and to the highest standard. The result was a series of striking retail displays that not only enhanced the visual appeal of each store but also effectively communicated Bollinger’s brand message to customers.
These window displays became a focal point for passersby, drawing attention to Bollinger’s new product in a way that was both visually compelling and environmentally conscious.
